Ute Lemper – Youkali

Non sapevo che avesse cantato tanghi. Ute Lemper è una cantautrice  che adoro. Non parlo tedesco (se non per qualche frase di circostanza, che mi permette a malapena di ordinare in un locale il minimo da mangiare… e confesso una mia adorazione per il leberwurst) ma le sonorità che mette lei nel cantare la sua lingua me la fanno apprezzare tantissimo. Ora ho scoperto che mi piace anche come canta in altre lingue.

Ho scoperto poco tempo fa questa sua interpretazione su Utube, di un tango del 1934 di Kurt Weill, Youkali. Vi lascio all’ascolto del brano. Divertitevi!

Questa canzone si inserisce nello spettacolo dall’omonimo titolo scritto da Weill poco dopo l’emigrazione negli Stati Uniti causata dall’ascesa del nazismo in Germania.
